2004 – 2005 Full Time	University of Essex Technical Officer Working as part of a HEA funded project, developing a system to provide targeted assessments to students via a portal.

2002 – 2004 Full Time	Dragoman Overseas Travel IT/Web Administrator Managing the day to day technical operational needs of a small business. The management and maintenance of a network running a mixture of Microsoft, Apple, and *nix Operating Systems. Responsibility for staff IT training, IT purchasing, furthering the company’s e-commerce business presence, and advising on web-marketing strategy. Key achievements in this post: • Migrating an unstable Access-based reservation system, essential for core business, to Microsoft SQL Server • Developing an automated system for data transfer to remote web servers. • Developing a web-based ‘real-time’ online reservation system, for both B2B and B2C use. • Advised AITO council on industry web standards. • Establishing and conducting an IT staff training program. • Responsible for designing and developing two extranet and two internet sites.

2000, 2001 Full Time	Flomerics Web Developer I assisted in the setup of a web server and subsequent migration of existing Perl code to Java Servlets. I developed an intranet/internet content management system.

1998 – Present Contractual	Web Design Designer/Developer I have designed and developed a number of web sites, from simple personal sites, to large database-driven e-commerce sites.

1999 – 2002 Part Time	University of Essex IT Student Assistant Working at the university help desk, assisting students to connect their computer to the campus network, as well as offering advice and training to students who had difficulty in using the campus computers in the PC labs.

Occasional Part Time	PCFM Assistant Assisted a network engineer in the installation/upgrading of structured data cabling.
